Yes, the .crt is the certificate from what ever CA and "private_key_filename.key" is the corresponding private key for this very certificate. It's the one that should always be protected by a pass phrase, which makes starting apache-SSL a pain, because it's always prompting the admin for the pass phrase on start-up. Cheers Andreas Hey,
